Car Hire |
| To make
the most of your holiday, a hire car is recommended. There
are many car hire companies about, each with different terms and
conditions of hire. Some companies provide fully inclusive insurance
with no excess payable on any damage to the vehicle. However, an
increasing number of companies are starting to charge an excess.
Ultimately, this is down to personal choice - we
just feel we should make you aware that there are differences.
We
have selected two car hire booking portals that we believe to be among the
best in terms of value for money and general conditions of hire (but please read
our disclaimer below).

Autos |
| For
discounted car hire from one of the big names in the car hire
industry, try Holiday Autos. They have
special arrangements with the major car hire companies like Hertz,
Alamo, Budget, Thrifty, Europcar, etc, which means booking through
Holiday autos is much cheaper than booking direct with the car hire
company. You can choose your level of insurance cover, cancellation
cover, etc, to suit your needs. You will need to pay at the time of
booking, but payment is in pounds sterling so is not subject to currency
fluctuations. |

| Booking
Centre Online |
| The
Booking Centre Online is very competitive, and many*
of the deals are fully-inclusive, i.e. no excess or damage
deposit, no extra charge for accessories. There are normally no cancellation
fees (but please tell them if you do ever need to cancel). The price
you see is the price you pay. In addition, you reserve your car now,
but you don't pay for it until you arrive. On arrival
at the destination you will be asked to pay in the local currency by Credit

| *As
mentioned above, trend is moving towards charging an excess. With the
Booking Centre Online you can easily check this: Select
the car you want, Continue
on to the booking form, then select the link "What's
Included/What's not?". If you are
happy with the conditions, then fill out the form (remembering that
payment is not necessary until you collect the car). If not, go back
and try another supplier (or alternatively use Carrentals above,
selecting the excess waiver option if required). |

Disclaimer. We have selected the above car hire
suppliers because we believe that they offer good value for money
and preferable terms/conditions of hire. However, it is important to understand that,
whichever car hire scheme you choose, any
agreement is strictly between you and the car hire company. This agreement
does not involve us. Our role is merely to recommend what we genuinely believe
to be the best deals around. Any information we give is purely opinion, as
we understand it, to the best of our knowledge and belief. We are not
responsible for any errors or misinformation. For your own protection we
recommend that you read and fully understand the terms and conditions.
Note that many car hire companies have a minimum age policy, so be sure to
check this at the time of booking. For added protection we also recommend that any payment
is made by credit card. Oh, and don't forget your driving license!
Drink Driving. Don't even think about it. The
alcohol limit in Spain is lower than that of the UK, and the penalties are
harsher. If you really want to take the risk, prepare yourself for the possibility
of an extended holiday (typically 1-4 years), accommodation courtesy of
Tahiche prison!

Transfers. However, if you really don't want
to hire a car, you can get a minibus transfer or a taxi. The last time
we looked the return costs were around £58 per couple for a minibus, or
around £80-£90 for a taxi for up to 4 people. You'll have to check the
actual costs with the companies concerned. However, note that is is
a 20 minute walk or so from our apartment to the resort and beaches. |

For minibus transfers try

free. These are generally cheaper than taxis but take longer, up to
an hour. |
